Around twelve months ago, Dion and the team were commissioned with the rare task of repairing a completely split tree in Mt. Macedon.
The English Oak,(Quercus Robur), was split for several metres with a very large gap where the trunk was once intact. After much planning and preparation the tree’s crown was heavily reduced and the split stem was pulled together with ropes, winches and pulleys. It was then bolted with three 20mm rods. The crown also had a steel cable installed to hold it together. The repair went to plan and the client was very happy and impressed with the result.
